5 - 15
PROVISIONARY
Provisionary learners are willing to learn "provided" you give them more reasons to learn. What's asked of them can feel hard. They are hesitant to fully engage, as the risks currently seem greater than the perceived benefits. They may have already experienced the frustration of trying to do uncomfortable things. Often, at this level a learner has begun thinking "this is not for me." The good news is you can help them change that story. It is especially important for the Provisionary learner to create or find safe learning environments in which to cultivate vital skills. The following five domains will more fully help you consider areas in which the Provisionary learner would benefit from supportive and engaging coaching for education and for life.
15 - 33
SPECTATOR
Spectators likely demonstrate some basic understanding of vital skills. They would still rather observe than jump in, especially when doing things that feel uncomfortable at first. The Spectator is aware there are risks involved and needs to feel like it is safe before they will try. They may have already experienced the discomfort of attempting hard things. The good news is you can help the Spectator believe it's worth it. It is essential for the Spectator to have a safe learning environment in which to cultivate vital skills. The following five domains will more fully help you consider areas in which the Spectator will benefit from supportive and engaging coaching for education and life.
34 - 49
CREATOR
Creators demonstrate some proficiency in the exercise of vital skills. These competencies are likely already helping the Creator stand out among their peers. The good news is the Creator is capable of doing even more than using these skills for their own betterment. With some coaching in a safe environment, the Creator could demonstrate extraordinary leadership. The following five domains will help you consider areas in which the Creator will benefit from supportive and engaging coaching for education and life. The Creator has the potential to become a Transformer who uses these skills to influence others to be even better.
50 - 60
TRANSFORMER
Transformers often take on the role of peer coach and mentor. The Transformer demonstrates the potential to inspire and influence peers. They can learn to be an even more transformational catalyst for creative solutions. In a safe learning environment the Transformer would benefit from gaining competency with tools for leading others well. The following five domains will help you consider areas in which the Transformer will benefit from supportive and engaging coaching for education and life. As a person of influence, the Transformer is on the way to becoming an extraordinary leader.

The 5 Competencies

The “5 C’s” we explored – communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and cultural intelligence – are key components to student’s success that form the basis of competent communication and leadership. Sometimes referred to as “soft skills,” our decades of work with students and leaders globally has revealed that these are vital skills. Research overwhelmingly points to these as the success metrics for education and life.
